While the landscape for the upcoming school year is still to be determined, we want to let you know that the Extended Day team is busy preparing for fall so we can support our families as best we can.
Currently we are updating our policies for health and safety as well as planning ways to get your student as much small group, live online instruction and small group outings as we possibly can.
Here’s what we plan to offer:
- Outdoor Outings & Activities: Small groups of children will be matched with two of our line staff to go on walks around the neighborhood or do activities in the park. Groups and staff will remain consistent to the best of our ability and we are exploring ways to accommodate already formed pods. We’re working to make this option available for both the days your student is in school and for remote learning days.
- Curriculum Supplement: Remote learning sessions for small groups of students (6-10) will be offered in math, science, ELA, art and homework help. The curriculum will be taught live online by experienced educators and will reinforce the curriculum being taught by their classroom teacher.
- Online Enrichment: Remote learning sessions of unique, online enrichment classes for small groups of students (6-10) will be taught live online by instructors who are experienced and passionate about the subject they are teaching.
- Brick and Mortar Extended Day: We continue to work closely with the PS10 administration to see if we can run any portion of the program on-site for the days the students attend classes.
As always, we hope to remain an affordable option for our PS10 community and are working with the PTA on funding opportunities to help keep costs down for our families as well as provide scholarships so that our program is available to all in our school community.
We hope to have more information to you regarding registration by the end of August so please stay tuned.
Thank you for your patience and your continued support.
