Traditional Summer Camp
For PS10 students entering grades Kindergarten - 6th.
Summer Smash activities are based on the theme of the week. Example of activities include painting in the park, DIY Science, crafts projects, gardening and photography. Sports activities include soccer, softball, volleyball and tennis.
Example of a Typical Day :
8:30 am Arrival time 2:00 pm Snack time
9:00 am Project work based on the weekly theme 3:00 pm Organize free play
11:00 am Lunch and free time in the schoolyard. 4:45 pm Pick-up time / Screen time in the auditorium
1:00 pm Continue working on a project for the day. 5:00 pm Extended hours (additional charge)

1. Are you accepting incoming Kindergarten Students?
Yes we do! Incoming PS10 Kindergarteners to rising 6th graders are welcome.
2. What are the activities for Summer Smash? What does a typical day look like?

A typical Summer Smash day looks like this:
7:45 am Early Bird arrival (additional charge)
8:30 am Arrival time
9:00 am Project work based on the weekly theme
11:00 am Lunch and free time in the schoolyard.
1:00 pm Continue working on a project for the day.
2:00 pm Snack time
3:00 pm Organize free play
4:45 pm Pick-up time / Screen time in the auditorium
5:00 pm Extended hours (additional charge)
3. Will Summer Smashers go on Field Trips?
Summer Smash Students will take nature walks to Prospect Park but no other field trips.
4. Where do we sign in and sign out for the day?
Arrival sign-in and dismissal sign-out will happen in the PS 10 lobby.
5. Is my child allowed to self-dismiss?
Rising 6th-grade students are permitted to self-dismiss at an agreed-upon time. Parents will be provided with a self-dismissal form to complete.

7. Do you offer scholarships?

8. Are PS 10 Group Leaders working during Summer Smash?
Yes, Summer Smash is staffed by the employees your children interact with in Extended Day during the school year.
9. Can I drop off early and/or pick up late?
Yes, Early Drop-off starts from 7:45 -8:30 a.m. and costs $45 per week. Late pick-up starts from 5:00 -6:00 p.m. and costs $60 per week.

10. Is Lunch and /or a snack provided by Extended Day?
The PS 10 DOE kitchen will be open and providing lunch to all students in Summer Smash. You may pack lunch for your child if you prefer. Please pack a snack for your child every day.
11. What will my child need to bring to Summer Smash?
Please have your child wear their Summer Smash T-shirt, which will be provided on the first day of their Summer Session. Additionally, please pack a change of clothing, sunglasses, a water bottle, sunscreen and a hat. We also ask that students wear closed-toe shoes.
